I regret to say that the Haus of Slytherin will be going on another indefinite hiatus.
I’m sure those who have visited here and there the last couple of weeks hoping for updates have seen it coming even before I had, but, as much as I dislike it, it is what it is. Everyone behind the blog has their own lives to attend to and we just don’t have the time needed to make the common room as great as it should be. And, when the time does come around, the passion and dedication just isn’t there. At least, not nearly as much as when we first started a little more than a year ago.
If you’ve been around for awhile, you know that I always put high expectations on the work I do. If it ain’t right, I don’t want it published or shown. That’s the way I feel about the common room, and then I’d get that feeling of dread because I know there’s a bunch of work to do to get it done and I just don’t have the passion, motivation or desire to do it anymore. At least, not nearly as much as when I first started… and, if I can’t make it the best it can be, I don’t want you all to suffer through the half-assed-ness. I just don’t see the point in struggling to keep this up if I’m not going to deliver the best. I’ve obsessively nit-picked through every single thing Haus of Slytherin-related throughout the last year, striving to make everything perfect and easily accessible as well as entertaining and I think I burnt myself out… lol. It really sucks and I’m not happy at all about it, but like I said, it is what it is.
I’m inCREDibly grateful and proud of how far the Haus of Slytherin has come along this past year. I’m grateful and appreciative of all the help received and all the Slytherins (and non-Slyths) who participated and helped make the common room a cool place to be. I’m appreciative of the response received and the standard set to help set us apart from the more… “basic” and half-assed blogs on here. I’ll forever be grateful, proud, and appreciative of all of those involved, especially the blog members, and what this blog has come to. Thank you all so freaking much for making the Haus of Slytherin fucking awesome!! :))
Everything will remain where it is. The password won’t change (and won’t be removed) and the updates will cease. If I do end up updating something, I’ll definitely, like always, let you know here and in the common room. Lastly, everyone who has recently applied for access will get an email shortly. Anyone who applies from today on will have their application viewed eventually, but there is telling how soon you’ll receive a response.
Thanks again, everyone, and happy new year. :)

P.S. The other Haus blogs have halted further production as well. If you want to create your own, I only kindly ask that you do not name it “The Haus of [Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw]” or any other similar variation as those already exist and are officially affiliated with one another.
Wow. I am ashamed to say that I completely forgot about the Pottermore House Cup D;
I don’t believe in giving out excuses (sometimes, they really come off pathetic no matter how unpathetic they actually are) so I won’t, but I know I’ve been slacking (a lot) lately and I’m trying to fix that.
I was disappointed that we didn’t win the House Cup, but I’m happy to see that the Gryffs and us were dueling it out to the end as usual for pride and glory’s sake since the numbers were so close. We fought hard, but they a smidgen (a teensy weensy bit, perhaps by a marginal error) harder. To them, I say:
Congratulations!!
Enjoy your victory (until we take the Cup back next year) ^__^
Fantastic work, snakes. Until next time~!

Because that’s when the second Pottermore House Cup will be awarded!
Help your fellow Slytherins win the Cup by brewing and dueling as much as you can. If you fancy some brewing and dueling tips, you can have read up on the Pottermore Assistance book in the common room Library.
Above all else, have fun! Don’t make it feel like a chore!
No, but in all seriousness, whoever’s side you’re on, vote for ‘em. I found this quote yesterday by David Foster Wallace that’s fitting, and I leave it at this:
“If you are bored and disgusted by politics and don’t bother to vote, you are in effect voting for the entrenched Establishments of the two major parties, who please rest assured are not dumb, and who are keenly aware that it is in their interests to keep you disgusted and bored and cynical and to give you every possible reason to stay at home doing one-hitters and watching MTV on primary day. By all means stay home if you want, but don’t bullshit yourself that you’re not voting. In reality, there is no such thing as not voting: you either vote by voting, or you vote by staying home and tacitly doubling the value of some Diehard’s vote.”
Enjoy the rest of your day~!

I don’t guarantee I’ve found them all in the first run. I’ll start compiling all the info later and have the CoS chapter in the Pottermore Assistance book finalized within the next few days.
